History of Fletcher

There has been a Fletcher business in the Murphy family since 1974 when John Murphy began Fletcher Removals

After serving his apprentice as a Mechanical Engineer, running a wildly unsuccessful Fruit Machine company and then playing with Toy Soldiers for many years [and still does...], John Murphy's son, Rob, moved into the Wonderful World of Waste to Energy.

He built on this obsession and helped a renewable energy fund establish a Used Cooking Oil collection and recovery business.

A decade or two later, Rob set up Fletcher Oils, a trading name of his group business: The Supply Chain Partnership.

Those twenty years taught Rob there whole UCO collection sector was full of smoke and mirrors and the only losers were the hospitality sector.

Rather than be dragged down that road, Rob began Fletcher Oils to be the first and only fully independent Used Cooking Oil Broker in the UK.

It's been three years since Fletcher Oils began with nothing more than an oily barrel full of hopes and dreams......

........and right now in 2025, it's become a great success brokering millions of litres of UCO on behalf of it's clients.

In fact, it's become too big for Rob to handle [Rob also looks after Fletcher Recycling and Fletcher Works] As of October 2025, the third generation of Murphy has taken the helm of a Fletcher business.

After a successful early career in technical operations, Tommy Murphy now takes the helm of Fletcher Oils........
